The goal of this design research project was to see if sound can influence the amounts of smartphone related distractions during the classic 9-5 working hours. 

 

In order to do so, 10 research artifacts were build that measured the amount of smartphone pickups and send this data to an online dashboard in DataFoundry. Depending on which control group uses the artefact, a specific sound design was integrated within the research artifact. There were two control groups using a total of 10 research artifacts simultaneously.
